Democracy in America: Political Satire Then and Now

The exhibition presents works that depict political figures and events, some reverential but most satirical. Contemporary works are placed in historical context to demonstrate the persistence of the satiric spirit in political discourse and the recurrence of similar concerns from the 17th century to the present. The exhibition presents a variety of media by regional and nationally known artists, and a wide variety of points of view.

The goal of the project is to encourage discussion and raise awareness of the privilege and responsibility of voting. The exhibition offers the opportunity to bring children to learn about the election process through Kids Voting.
